MessageBird, an omnichannel communications platform, has acquired the domain name

Last year, the domain appeared to have sold in an auction for $2.5 million but the sale fell through.

In November last year, I noticed the Whois for the domain changed. The seller and Monte Cahn of Right of the Dot confirmed

the domain name sold but could not provide further details. Right of the Dot held the original auction for the domain and brokered the transaction to MessageBird.

One commenter on Domain Name Wire suggested that MessageBird might be the buyer because the Whois record reflected an owner in the Netherlands, where MessageBird is located. That person was correct.

The domain entered the Pending Transfer state last week and moved to MarkMonitor. The updated Whois record reflects MessageBird B.V. as the owner.

As of right now, does not forward to

Over 25,000 companies use MessageBird’s platform, including Facebook, Uber and Airbnb.
