You can finally get alerted in a timely fashion.
One of the most infuriating things about buying domains on NameJet is the lack of timely alerts about being outbid.
Email alerts arrive late. Alert functionality on the NameJet app (which doesn’t seem to be available for download anymore) hasn’t worked for years.
I don’t think I’m overestimating when I say the lack of alerts has cost NameJet millions of dollars in lost bids.
But help might be here.
NameJet announced the introduction of SMS alerts today. It will alert you via text message when you are outbid, when an auction starts, when auctions are ending soon, and when you win an auction. Users can select which of these alerts they want to receive.
The service is only available for U.S. phone numbers at this time.
NameJet sent an email to customers about the SMS feature today, but it didn’t contain a link or instructions. I found the feature after poking around a bit. After logging in, go to “Account Details” and click on the SMS settings alert (see picture above).
