VMware Acquires Multi-Cloud Operations Platform, CloudHealth Technologies
August 2018 – At VMworld 2018 in Las Vegas, VMware has announced its acquisition of CloudHealth Technologies – a startup with over 3,000 global customers delivering a cloud operations platform across AWS Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. VMware would pay approximately $500 million for the Boston, Massachusetts-based startup. Read further.

John Chambers Expects Cloud Management Company Rubrik to Become Multibillion Dollar Business
August 2018 – Former Cisco CEO John Chambers has joined cloud management provider Rubrik as a Board Advisor and personally invested in the company. During his 25-year tenure at Cisco, Chambers helped grow Cisco from $70 million to $47 billion when he stepped down as CEO in 2015. Now he has laid his eyes on cloud management company Rubrik. Multi-Cloud Data Management Company Actifio Raises $100M
August 2018 – Actifio, an enterprise Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) software provider with its platform powered by patented Virtual Data Pipeline technology, has raised $100 million in a financing round led by Crestline Investors and joined by North Bridge Venture Partners, 83North, Advanced Technology Ventures, Heritage Group, Andreessen Horowitz, and other existing investors. New Study: 86% of Enterprises Have Adopted a Multi-Cloud Strategy
July 2018 – A vast majority (86 percent) of enterprise cloud technology decision makers describe their current cloud strategy as multi-cloud, according to a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Virtustream, with performance and innovation rising above cost savings as the top measures of success. Cisco-backed RStor Emerges from Stealth, Unveils Multi-Cloud Platform for Enterprise Performance Computing
RStor, a US-based company that raised $45 million in a Series-A funding round led by Cisco Investments, has entered the market with a hyper-distributed multi-cloud platform. Their newly launched solution would enable organizations to “compute, connect, and operate above the cloud.” Read further.

F5 Unveils BIG-IP Cloud Edition for Quick Deployment and Management of Application Services in Multi-Cloud Environments
April 2018 – Cloud and security solutions company, F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV), has unveiled BIG-IP Cloud Edition, available May 31, 2018, enabling customers to “quickly” deploy critical application services for every app and any environment (multi-cloud). Accenture Cloud Platform Awarded United States Patent for Its Analytics-Based Multi-Cloud Tagging Capabilities
April 2018 – Accenture has been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the analytics-based multi-cloud tagging capabilities of their Accenture Cloud Platform (ACP). Introduced in 2013, ACP is a multi-cloud management platform that enables organizations to manage their enterprise public and private cloud resources centrally from one control plane. Read further.
