LCL, a Belgian data center owner/operator offering its colocation services from three data centers in Belgium – in Diegem, Antwerp and Aalst, has invested 600,000 euros to build its new 200m² data room in Antwerp as an extension of its two existing data halls.

As LCL’s data center in Antwerp, Belgium had reached its maximum capacity, LCL is now expanding it by 200m² – the equivalent of some 70 new data center racks. The total surface area of the facility now amounts to 500m².

This new investment by LCL is part of a planned continuation of the total renovation of the electrical installations in this Antwerp data center two years ago. The extra data center space will be available from October 2018.

Laurens van Reijen“Our data center in Diegem is more centrally located, close to Brussels, but many of our customers are located outside the capital,” said Laurens van Reijen, managing director of LCL. “In Antwerp we are often closer to the end user. In order to be closer to our customers and to be able to continue serving them from there, we have created this extra data center space in Antwerp.”
