Datacenter.com, a channel-focused provider of colocation services with month-to-month contracts and a planned roll-out of data centers in key markets worldwide, today launches its IT-Management, interactive Lunch & Learn series – being held in Datacenter.com’s flagship data center in Amsterdam. The first series of free-to-attend Lunch & Learn seminars are announced in joint partnership with IBM, of which the first event will take place on 18 October 2018. IBM’s CTO for the Benelux market, Gerard Smit, will then share his vision and elaborate on IBM’s ‘5 in 5’ technology predictions.
As an owner/operator of energy-efficient and redundantly engineered data center infrastructure, Datacenter.com intends to offer colocation services on which channel partners including CSPs, MSPs, ISPs, systems integrators, as well as enterprises, can build and deploy their own services and applications. The company sees knowledge sharing as an integral part of its channel-focused go-to-market approach, to help partners successfully build their businesses on Datacenter.com’s colocation infrastructure with ample connectivity options available. That’s why Datacenter.com is launching their Lunch & Learn event series today in close cooperation with IBM. These knowledge events are open to anyone interested in the topics covered.
IBM’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg, Gerard Smit, will be the first high profile executive to be appearing at Datacenter.com’s English language Lunch & Learn event on Thursday 18 October 2018 – in Datacenter.com’s AMS1 flagship data center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In line with IBM’s ‘5 in 5’ technology predictions, he will share his global vision on topics such as blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and more. What impact will these technology movements have on overall business operations? Mr. Smit will interactively provide his predictions and share his opinions.

“These free-to-attend Lunch & Learn seminars are intended to be small-scale, high-level knowledge sharing events where managers and experts will get the opportunity to interactively learn, while sharing their market visions and know-how,” said Jochem Steman, CEO of Datacenter.com.
“IBM is a great partner for kicking-off our Lunch & Learn series of events, as they have a wealth of knowledge available and superb technological solutions for addressing market challenges. We’ve planned to do several Lunch & Learn seminars with IBM, but also with other partners that will take the stage.”
Board Room, Office Space
The Datacenter.com Amsterdam AMS1 facility, totaling 54.000 square feet (5.000 square meters) of colocation data center space upon completion, would be an ideal location for setting up these Lunch & Learn seminars. “Our board room and extensive office space allow for channel customers to receive their customers, but also for events like these. We have a very strict entry policy for the data center though, with biometric and other identification controls. It means that attendants signing up for this event will be subject to security measures,” added Mr. Steman.
The interactive Lunch & Learn seminars, held in Datacenter.com’s flagship data center in the Amsterdam Southeast business district, offer (free) fenced parking at the Datacenter.com premises that is located directly at the edge of the A9 and A10 motorways. For guests from abroad, access to the Datacenter.com AMS1 data center would be quite easy as Schiphol Airport is at a taxi ride distance.
Datacenter.com’s investors have committed themselves to invest heavily in state-of-the-art data center infrastructure – to meet the market’s growing need for energy efficient, highly interconnected and modular colocation facilities, in which organizations can flexibly and securely host their critical IT infrastructure while cloud computing needs are addressed. Datacenter.com’s customized, reliable and innovative data center solutions are accompanied with the company’s best-in-class customer support.
