Immersed Computing Scale-up Asperitas Wins Another Award

Asperitas Immersed Computing

Asperitas, a Dutch cleantech scale-up focused on delivering sustainable data center solutions, has received a “prestigious” international award in Glasgow, Scotland last week. Another one, as this Global Game Changers Award adds to other market recognitions including the Piet de Jong award from TNO – a Dutch Organization for applied scientific research.

The Global Game Changers Award 2018, created by The Herald newspaper and Innovators Magazine, is rewarding impact towards the UN Global Goals. The UN Global Goals are 17 goals that must be achieved by 2030. The objectives are divided over themes such as Climate Action, Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, Clean Energy and Economic Growth. The Global Game Changers Awards were created to give recognition to innovations that have the potential to realize the UN Global Goals at a global level.

The Amsterdam area based data center solutions scale-up Asperitas has been working since 2014 on a technology that enables data centers around the world to facilitate the most advanced digital applications while at the same time saving energy. Several organizations in Europe already use the immersed computing technology delivered by Asperitas including Vienna Scientific Cluster in Austria, 2CRSI in France and EcoRacks in Eindhoven.

In Germany, the LOEWE Institute will use the Asperitas immersed computing data center solution for High Performance Computing (HPC). A collaboration between Senckenberg Nature Research Society, Goethe University in Frankfurt, Justus-Liebig University and Fraunhofer Institute, the LOEWE Institute uses advanced hardware for their research projects. The researchers at the LOEWE Institute are going to use this advanced hardware – which can be housed in an Asperitas immersed computing solution – for biodiversity research.
