Leaseweb, a provider of dedicated server hosting and cloud services, has expanded its managed cyber security portfolio with new services in collaboration with Netherlands-based security specialist Northwave. The new SIEM SOC cyber security service would allow Leaseweb customers to have their infrastructure monitored 24/7 by Northwave’s security specialists.

From their Security Operation Center (SOC) in Nieuwegein, Northwave is able to monitor the network, systems, and security infrastructure 24/7. Using ‘Security Incident & Event Management’ (SIEM) technology, Northwave’s specialized cyber security analysts monitor

for suspicious traffic, detect possible breaches and respond to security incidents in order to mitigate risks. Leaseweb’s customers would now be able to benefit from Northwave’s knowledge and expertise to monitor for security threats and immediately take action when necessary.

Cyber Security Analysts

In addition, Northwave can now carry out penetration tests for Leaseweb customers, in order to identify and resolve weak spots in their infrastructure. Both cyber security services would help Leaseweb customers to protect their infrastructure against the growing number of cyber threats.

Penetration testing would enable Leaseweb customers to occasionally or regularly test their applications and their infrastructure – where cyber security analysts look for the weaknesses in systems and deliberately tries to bring them down. This way, Leaseweb would be able to lay-out vulnerabilities in the customer’s infrastructure in order to be able to advise. The services being delivered include assessments, where the ethical hackers attempt to break into systems, as well as ‘Red Team Security’ tests, where realistic attacks, like social engineering and spear phishing, are carried out to test the entire chain of security measures.

Both managed security services are available immediately and are additions to the existing Leaseweb security services portfolio, which also includes ‘DDoS IP Protection’ and ‘Web Application Firewall.’
