Interconnect Miami Data Centers (IMDC), a carrier hotel in South Florida providing colocation and connectivity services between the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean, has added connectivity-as-a-service platform PacketFabric to its network portfolio.

PacketFabric’s fully automated SDN-based network platform allows for public, private and Internet-based network solutions to be designed, provisioned and managed through a single web interface. Leveraging the latest in optical and packet switching technology, PacketFabric would enable dynamic, real-time connectivity services between major carrier-neutral colocation facilities at terabit-scale.

“We’ve always offered our customers great colocation and connectivity options with access to all the key metro, long haul and subsea networks in South Florida, including IMDC’s own fiber ring throughout downtown Miami,” said Jason Cohen, CEO of Interconnect Miami Data Centers. “Now, we’re also able to offer PacketFabric’s dynamic network capabilities, providing our customers instant access to a vast ecosystem of cloud, network and service solutions – a cross connect away from any one of the IMDC facilities.”

18 U.S. Metro Markets

PacketFabric operates a multi-terabit U.S. footprint that includes more than 150 data center Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in 18 U.S. metro markets.

By connecting to the PacketFabric platform from an IMDC colocation facility, colocation and metro network customers can instantly provision direct, secured terabit-scale connectivity between any two or more locations on the PacketFabric network. PacketFabric’s any-to-any SDN-powered network facilitates connectivity to its rich ecosystem of cloud service providers (CSPs), carriers and partners.

“Interconnect Miami Data Centers’ focus on providing greater choice, access, visibility and control to their customers is in line with our own mission to make network services easier to procure, consume and manage,” said Chad Milam, President and COO of PacketFabric. “PacketFabric is excited to offer scalable connectivity on demand to IMDC’s customers throughout South Florida.”
