The operator of free annual credit report site goes after cybersquatters.

Central Source, LLC has filed an in rem lawsuit (pdf) against 108 domain names that it says are typosquatting on its famous AnnualCreditReport.com website.

The company was formed to operate the AnnualCreditReport.com website after the U.S. government passed the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) in 2003. The law mandated that consumers get free access to credit reports once per year.

Given the high value of credit-related web traffic, the company has faced off against lots of cybersquatters. It has filed at least 14 lawsuits since 2014 to recover domain names.

If history is any guide, the owners of these domains won’t show up to defend them, and the court will order the domain names transferred.
