Bored Ape Yacht Club launched a new metaverse called Otherside. ApeCoin holders who had their wallets KYC’d were able to begin minting the Otherside virtual land NFTs, called Otherdeed, last night. For this new metaverse, Yuga Labs, parent company of BAYC, is using the Otherside.xyz domain name:

Otherside.xyz was a recent acquisition for the company. In fact, domain investor Swetha Yenugula announced that she sold Otherside.xyz for $29,888 in mid-March. The domain name was sold via Dan.com:

Otherside.xyz is currently registered under Whois privacy at Google’s domain registrar. I presume they bought it using the BIN option rather than by making an offer or leasing the domain name.
I have seen some naysayers comment about how unreal some .xyz sales appear. Here’s another example of a reported sale that turned out to be acquired by a major business.
