Dimension Data, the company with specialism in IT services, and the global ICT solutions provider NTT Communications, have collaborated to combine their cloud IaaS expertise, and create a single solution called “cloud powerhouse”. The companies are joining forces under the management of NTT Communications with an aim to provide their clients the transformative cloud based solutions, private and hybrid cloud offerings. The joint solution will have the expertise of highly-skilled cloud professionals of both the companies to drive innovation into the market and offer the most-demanded services to the organizations. “Enterprises have an increasing need for hybrid IT to accelerate their digital transformation. Working together to enhance our cloud and value-added services, combined with our industry leading networking, global data center assets and security capabilities, both Dimension Data and NTT Communications will offer clients a more compelling hybrid IT value proposition,” said Tsunehisa Okuno, Senior Vice President, Head of Global Business, NTT Holdings. “NTT’s extensive R&D investments will also enhance the range of services available to clients.” The ‘cloud powerhouse’ is a combined entity of public, private, and hybrid cloud services with innovative trusted security and networking features, that provide improved visibility, automation, management and governance. “Combining our cloud IaaS assets provides enterprises on their hybrid IT journey with a unique combination of services and expertise, on a global basis. We’ll deliver services at-scale and provide a level of innovation not currently available in the managed cloud-based hybrid IT solutions space,” said Jason Goodall, CEO, Dimension Data Group.  The solution will deliver a consistent computing environment, programmable interfaces and automated delivery model across private and public cloud to provide agility, while reducing operational costs. It will also provide consumption-based billing model for private cloud services. ‘Cloud powerhouse’ is a dashboard for managing and visualizing all the hybrid IT resources. More benefits of it include flexible allocation of IT resources, which are achieved because of integrating the WAN and worldwide data centers by software defined technologies. Furthermore, the move will drive innovation across an open ecosystem to allow customers utilize innovation of open-source community, vendors services and partners. “We’re excited that our augmented capabilities and broadened footprint will take us to the next level in global cloud IaaS platform, coupled with one of the largest software-defined network services that connect over 190 countries worldwide, more than 140 global data centers, and the world’s leading Tier 1 IP network,” said Katsumi Nakata, Senior Executive Vice President, NTT Communications. “We are confident that we will continue to deliver superior results and contribute significantly to the success of both our clients and our cloud business.” The collaboration will enable both the companies to play to their strengths – the broad reach of NTT Communications’ network and data centers coupled with Dimension Data’s technology expertise and consulting capabilities, will enable customers achieve global scale and accelerate their hybrid IT and digital transformation initiatives, said Leslie Rosenberg, Research Director at IDC.
