It’s the second domain name change for the company.
According to Statista, LinkedIn and Indeed were among the most effective lead sources for recruiters in the US in 2020. While recruiters may be happy, are these services the best use of a candidate’s time? With numerous searches for differing keywords, connecting a candidate with the right job through a mainstream service can be challenging.
Alternatively, would you trust a content creator that you follow to find you the perfect job? One company thinks you would.
Pallet, launched in 2019, is helping to innovate the recruiting industry by allowing content creators to curate job boards for their audiences. Think of it as a Spotify-style playlist for a job search.
New York-based Pallet, led by CEO Kai Han, creates an unexpected revenue stream for some influencers. A notable example that Pallet gives is Sahil Bloom. Bloom, an investor and advisor, created a job board aimed at helping his young tech-savvy audience find new roles. Pallet reports that Bloom made $50,000 through his job board in the space of 90 days.
Through Bloom and the other content creators using the Pallet network, the company aims to find talent in internet communities and connect them with employers.
Pallet relies on its website and domain name to provide its services. Initially named Cardea, the company launched using the Cardea.work domain name before rebranding to Pallet in early 2021.
That rebrand naturally came with a domain change. It acquired Pallet.xyz for just $4,888 from Swetha Yenugula in March 2021, according to NameBio.
The rebrand and Pallet.xyz purchase came months after Pallet raised $1 million in pre-seed funding. With an additional $3.9 million in seed funding raised in December 2021, Pallet again opted to upgrade its domain.
This time, it chose to invest in the premium domain Pallet.com. According to Archive.org, Pallet likely began using Pallet.com in December 2021. The domain is registered under Whois privacy protection at GoDaddy.
Pallet has now transitioned almost entirely from Pallet.xyz to Pallet.com. The domain currently plays host to a rather basic landing page, but it is intrinsic to Pallet’s job board technology.
A quick look around Twitter will show that Pallet.com is widely shared and promoted by early adopters of Pallet. As the service grows and expands its service offerings, Pallet.com will only become a more valuable asset for the company.
