SC Johnson turns .off its new top level domains.

Consumer products company SC Johnson has told ICANN it wishes to terminate the remainder of its dot-brand top level domain names.

Last year, the company terminated its agreement for the .rightathome top level domain. Now, it has informed ICANN that it wishes to terminate .glade, .scjohnson, .afamilycompany, .off, .raid and .duck.

Glade is a brand name for air freshener, Off is an insect repellent, Raid is an insect killer, and Duck is a cleaning product.

It does not appear that SC Johnson used any of the top level domain names.

Given the generic nature of some of the strings, it’s possible that another company might be interested in picking up the mantle and would likely pay SC Johnson to do so. But that might not be worth the company’s effort.
