Verisign turns in a solid quarter buoyed by .com price increase.
Verisign (NASDAQ: VRSN) reported Q1 earnings after the market closed this afternoon.
The company reported that Q1 revenue was up 7.2% compared to the same quarter last year. That’s (not coincidentally) about the same amount it was allowed to hike .com prices this year. Earnings were up 5.3%, and earnings per share increased 7.5% as the company continued to buy back shares.
Verisign operated at a 64.8% operating margin in the quarter.
The company processed 10.2 million new .com and .net domains in Q1 2022, compared to 11.6 million in the first quarter of 2021. After accounting for deletions, an additional 1.23 million .com and .net domains were added to the base.
