Iron Mountain, a global provider of storage, information management and colocation services, has signed a partnership with Google Cloud – to develop new AI-powered SaaS solutions on GCP. Through this partnership, Iron Mountain plans to help organizations analyze their vast physical and digital information and data repositories, to unlock insights, improve decision making and create new revenue streams.

With the exponential growth of data across industries, many businesses would continue to struggle to classify, access, and understand the full value of their data. By not knowing what they have, organizations are missing the opportunity to utilize that data to uncover new revenue opportunities and cost savings, stated Iron Mountain.

The new solution, delivered as a subscription service by Iron Mountain (to lower the cost of ownership), would enable organizations to:

  • Quickly Know What You Have – Iron Mountain’s “innovative” content analytics platform, interoperability with its Iron Cloud secure data storage services, and expertise in data analytics and metadata classification.
  • Enhance Intelligence – Google Cloud Platform‘s “advanced” machine learning and “leading” edge artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Drive Value – Apply neural networks and deep learning to deliver high impact outcomes such as revenue creation, cost reduction, risk avoidance – across a wide range of vertical market segments.

Iron Mountain expects to deliver these new subscription services built on GCP this September.

“We’re delighted to partner with Iron Mountain to develop and bring new insight capabilities to market – particularly given their deep domain expertise and customer portfolio,” said Tariq Shaukat, President, Partner and Industry Platforms at Google Cloud. “Customers in data-intensive industries like energy, financial services, healthcare and many others can create significant business value from the union of data with machine learning and content analytics.”

Preferred Cloud Provider

In addition, Iron Mountain has selected Google Cloud as its preferred cloud provider for artificial intelligence and machine learning, providing Iron Mountain with “highly reliable and secured services.”
