Decentralized finance is growing rapidly. The Total Value Locked (TVL) has increased over 100x since early 2020 to over $200B

of capital deposited on-chain in complex smart contract systems.

But it’s hard for new users to know which protocols to trust. And it’s hard for protocols to know which services to trust. Even audited protocols (e.g. Harvest, Compounder, Cover, Cheese Bank – page 10) have suffered substantial exploit losses.

There is substantial new capital waiting to enter DeFi once greater clarity emerges.
